Welcome to Arisan Circle!
We are an Indonesian-hosted community circle, creating a space for open conversations and meaningful connections. Everyone is welcome!

A passion for creating a welcoming, collaborative, and imaginative space.
We aim to create an inclusive space for our community to share ideas, explore their creativity, and collaborate as visionary organizers while encouraging deeper connections with themselves & others through a series of affordable community & earth-centered initiatives.
Arisan Café
An affordable, home-based café where community gather around cozy corners to share warm drinks and pastries. It’s a space to connect, tinker with projects or homework, and feel right at home.
Warung Club
A themed, potluck-style dinner where you can show off your cooking skills or simply bring a favorite dish to share while diving into thoughtful conversations around the questions based on the evening’s theme with our community.
Kutu Buku Club
A book club series that combines engaging activities and discussions. Each book is chosen to sharpen critical thinking and spark open conversations about the value of community and shared learning in today’s world.
SOTOy Series
A space to shamelessly share your latest hyper fixation(s) with a group of eager listeners, accompanied over a warm bowl of Soto (Indonesian-style soup). After your ‘word vomit,’ we’ll dive into a fun discussion session and unpack it all together!
Fundraising Events
Fun, community events that bring people together while raising funds for communities in need. Activities range from games and workshops to themed gatherings tied to the cause.
If you have an initiative you’d like to collaborate on, get in touch with us! Applications and interviews may be required.
Healing & Wellness Events
We occasionally do a series of gentle restorative events focused on healing, wellness, and self-care. Through activities like mindfulness sessions, gentle movement, creative workshops, and reflective discussions, participants get to chance to relax, recharge, and connect with themselves and others.

About Us
Selena and Alya formed their core memories in Indonesia and are now diasporic kids living in San Fernando Valley, Southern California. Having lived in the States for a few years now, they’ve been longing to root ourselves and are looking to build connection in the Los Angeles area.
They have experienced marginalization in various spaces and are coming together to build Arisan Circle through an intersectional lens. As part of a new generation of Indonesians, they are trying to reimagine what a decolonized community can look like within their lifetime.
